I Want You to DJ My Colorado Road Trip

In exactly 24 hours, I’ll be on my way to the airport to go to Colorado for the first time. We’re going on a 10-day road trip starting and ending in Denver and I’m pretty stoked. Now that’s about 1,200 miles of silence to fill up, and I’m not that funny. So, I thought it would be awesome if my readers DJed instead of me this time!

maxresdefaultI’m looking for ‘road trip-esque’ tunes that are good for the road and are stoner-friendly. I’m a huge fan of Phish, Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, Tool, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Metallica, Michael Jackson, etc; and very much nothing resembling Trailer Swift. I’ll start the list off right with ‘Rocky Mountain High,’ and I’m excited to hear what your favorite jams are!

Just comment below and I’ll add them to my Spotify.

Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Hey! I'm Ophelia. You've just entered a safe space! Here, we talk about depression, sex, and cannabis openly and honestly without judgment. It's time we stop vilifying these natural subjects which have grown to become taboo. When depression is mislabeled as laziness, we encourage suicide. When sex is taught to be shameful, we promote rape culture. And when cannabis is prohibited, ailing people suffer without access, or worse, are jailed. I have a Bachelor of Science degree and have spent my adult life researching and experimenting with these topics. I've made it my mission to dispel myths by using science, and to give others hope by sharing my experiences. Lives are destroyed or lost when we choose to not talk about the difficult things. But we can do better. Start by Speaking Out on the Unspeakable! @FearlessOphelia FearlessOphelia@gmail.com

  1. Straight up, “Cycling Trivialities” by Jose Gonzalez. I spin it when I’m travelling either geographically or psychologically through challenge.

  2. A few old school road songs I like:
Life In The Fast Lane – Eagles
The Road and The Sky – Jackson Browne
Six Days On The Road – Steve Earle
Shut Up and Drive – Widespread Panic
Further On Up The Road – Eric Clapton
Born To Be Wild – Steppenwolf
    Thunder Road – Bruce Springsteen
Beer In Mexico – Kenny Chesney (not exactly a road song, but a fun song)
    Have a great trip!

  3. Truckin’ (Grateful Dead)
On the Road Again – Willie Nelson

(O.k., so they are standard classics, nothing novel, but they are first things that come to mind when I think of stoner-friendly travel songs)
